| WS "Fluke" Holland and his 1980s Rogers kit. Fluke has toured and/or performed with the biggest rock and country artists in the business including Elvis Presley, Jerry Lee Lewis, Marty Stuart, The Statler Brothers, George Jones, Roy Orbison, Chuck Berry and countless others. His most recognized claim to music fame comes as being the only drummer ever for Johnny Cash’s legendary Tennessee 3 from 1960 until Cash's retirement from the road in 1997. Fluke passed away on September 23, 2020 at age 85.

| Longtime Ludwig artist Vince Dee says: "I joined Ludwig industries in late 1977. Mr. Ludwig and entire family, along with their top staff, had attended a show of the band Dave Major & The Minors that I was touring with. At the end of the show, Mr. Ludwig requested me to meet him the next week at the plant... so I did! We go upstairs to one of their large rooms where this incredible kit was shown. I was asked to play them and give my immediate opinion. I was blown away by its amazing percussive sound and projection. Because of my soloing with the band, Mr. Ludwig and 12 staff members leave for a few minutes. They come back with Max Roach and had me play again. He was asked to play, and he did. Incredible! They leave again. In about 10 minutes Mr. Bill, Bill III and Al LeMert come back in. They asked me how I liked the kit. I expressed my astonishment of how clear the drums were in sound and delivery and their unique style. Mr. Ludwig turns to Al LeMert and remarks "make him a kit ASAP!!!" I was signed for the summer to travel with the kit, tour, and write a complete 'pros & cons' review of everything of the kit, and in 90 days to have it on Mr. Ludwig's desk. So, I did! That very same day they signed me as an endorser in 1977. Since then I have been a part of five national ads, clinics, and still touring with a 15-piece big band from Columbia, Tennessee called the Merchants of Cool. My "sound projector" kit consisted of a 20" bass, 10'', 12", 13", 14'', 16" & 18" toms with removable "scoops" that actually fit inside that exact size drum for packing. These extended shells and scoops gave each drum even more of a rounded tone, highly increased definition to each stroke played and clarity of each pattern heard throughout the venue. The bass drum had no additional hardware connected to it, adding additional projection. The drums were introduced in 1979 and also shown in the 1980 catalogue. They were amazing!!!"
